Seasons / Availability Opah is available year-round. The opah harvest is largely incidental, since the opah is a solitary fish and does not swim in schools. Harvests of these individual fish follow no set pattern or ocean in a specific geographic area. Most of the harvest is sold through the Honolulu Fish Auction, while some boats market their catch directly.
