Bitter Lake
Bitter Lake got its name honestly: a lakeside sawmill once leached enough tannin into the water that horses refused to drink it. The lake is friendlier now, fronted by its playfield and community center off N 130th St, while Aurora Ave N, old Highway 99, keeps selling at speed and the Interurban Trail traces the ghost of the Everett rail line.
