Columbia City
Columbia City was a town in its own right until Seattle annexed it in 1907, and the landmark-district brick along Rainier Ave S proves it: two-story storefronts, a 1915 Carnegie library, a marquee over the sidewalk. Light rail on MLK connects it to everything, but the errands, the market, and the gossip still happen on Rainier.
