17th C. Italian carved wood “Della Robbia” frame

Available from Atelier Richard Boerth when we last checked. Sold from the shop’s own store; the price there is the one that counts.

This frame has a cove at the sight edge and a high relief convex profile carved with a profusion of fruit, leaves, flowers and acanthus leaf corners. The outside, back edge has a stylized leaf design. The original gilding on this frame have been removed down to the wood.
